What Makes You Blogging?
As what I know, there are hundreds of millions blogs in the blog community, yet the results would be much greater if you really do a statistical research on it. However, lots of people would not know what the purpose of blogging. Some of them may just want to blog for fun, and some may want to become a professional blogger and hence make money blogging.
In fact, there are lots of people out there who might lose their enthusiasm to continuously maintain their blogs. They will just give up on a half way and leave the entire blog outdated. These people are especially those who are blogging for money, indeed, this is relatively true.
What do you really blog for? To my stand, I will rather make myself clear of what really makes me blogging. Let us say you really have full of passion at blogging for your living, ask yourself a simple question, are you really in need of money by doing this? Honestly speaking, my point of view of blogging for money is extremely difficult. We can easily prove this by looking at the on-going trend in this field.
I would like to give some advice to some newborn bloggers who are reading this post. Try not to have the mindset of blogging for money at the initial stage. I do not mean that you cannot blog for money, but this will probably de-motivate yourself as you are always starving for more readers to your blog. Unfortunately, YOU DO NOT have a chance to attract more readers by doing so. Why do I say so? In fact, you can always try to search this keyword phrase “make money online” or “make money online for living” by using the search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc. Then, you will see a lot of websites which are related to this field for the results. The amount of the huge figures will definitely scare you! Therefore, this is not a good idea.
Perhaps, you can always blog for fun or write some useful stuff for your readers. As long as there is uniqueness of your blog and you are dedicating some valuable things to your readers. I believe you will definitely create some readers’ stickiness to your blog. And now you have a bunch of loyal readers who may bring you some surprise in the future such as making you money.
OK, I am just here to share some of my opinions. Hopefully it may help you.

Hi,
I agree with what you said. Many people tend to write about “make money online”-related blog after reading “make money online”-related materials. Blogging for money is not easy. We should first enjoy writing and focus on giving values to the reader. Then the money will come.

Hey, you should know me by now. Looks like you are getting really serious into this blogging lifestyle. Good. You might not wanna expect me to leave a second comment soon, knowing that I wont even keep friendster/facebook updated frequently, neither do I keep myself on track with blogs. Great stuff u have here! I’ve yet to properly peruse your Chinese blog and even if I do, you could almost tell that I’d call it quits by the time i reach the second line. You know what trouble it means to me to read just a line of chinese words. Haha!
A thing I noticed from your blog is your English. its totally inditinguishable from your nonsense gobbledegook you used to write in your SPM English paper! No offense, but I could say, Erican really did you good this time. I’ve been thru your first few posts and seems to adhere strongly to the blogging-for-money theme. As a reader (or a random guest), I would be a little more than amused to read about other stuff. No offense intended, just my two cents.
Looks like you are getting on well with the blogs and I really do pray that you could evenly balance out your life between blogging, education, family n entertainment. So, just dont get too obsessed with it till you realise one day all you have is just your computer. Way to go brother!

Sheng Loong, you are right. We both have got the same point there. As you told me last week, you would sometimes feel like totally addicted to blogging. Haha, I totally understand what your feeling is.
Anyway, I feel thankful as you are always my loyal reader. Thanks! ^_^

Hi Ken! You have had me a wonderful comment here although it’s quite long, lol. Anyway, I’m still not so familiar with the advanced English you use. Of course, that’s considered a “normal standard” for you, am I right?
Frankly speaking, I really have learned lots of things from Erican. Otherwise, I’m not able to communicate in English. Until now, I don’t really believe in what I’m capable of.. hoho!
Ken, hopefully you can always be one of my visitors here. Even though I will more focus on Internet Marketing stuff at this blog, yet I will still blog for my personal life, and perhaps some other stuff you might feel interested.
By the way, don’t forget this is Zachary Teng Dot Com. Would you think you are not going to “love” this blog? Unless I’m not the Wei Ye you know.. keke!
Anyway, take good care of yourself. Summer is coming very soon, isn’t it?
See ya!

What Ken said is quite true. Normally people who do not wish to make money online will find our blogs boring.
